Jurisdiction: Not jurisdiction-specific

Choose one scenario before comparing labels

Suppose an AI support service sends an incorrect instruction and a customer alleges a loss. Define who provided the service, what was sent, how the action was authorized, and what loss is claimed. Then ask how each actual proposal addresses that scenario.

The NAIC’s consumer cybersecurity guidance encourages comparison of coverage and deductibles. The worksheet below is our proposed enquiry structure; it is not a ranking of insurers or a statement that cyber insurance covers the example.

Use the same questions for each proposal

Question Proposal A Proposal B
Which entity and activity are described? Record the actual wording Record the actual wording
What event would trigger consideration? Obtain an explanation tied to the scenario Obtain the same explanation
What exclusions or conditions need review? Identify the relevant provisions Identify the relevant provisions
What limits and retained amounts are proposed? Record the offered terms Record the offered terms
What remains unanswered? Keep a dated question list Keep a dated question list

The blank comparison is intentional: no prices, limits, or coverage promises have been invented for these illustrative proposals.

Look for mismatched assumptions

A proposal based on a draft-only assistant should not silently be compared with one describing autonomous external actions. Give each professional the same workflow description and disclose material uncertainties. Record the response rather than relying on a verbal shorthand such as “AI covered.”

Keep regulatory and insurance review distinct

A regulatory assessment can help describe the workflow and identify issues to investigate. It does not determine whether a policy responds. The shared insurance directory is a research starting point, not a suitability finding or a quote.

Before making a decision, take the actual documents, relevant jurisdictions, and loss scenario to an appropriate insurance professional. This site does not rank providers or assert that a particular product is available to your organization.
